Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (GCBA)

About This Program

The GCBA program enables holders of bachelor’s or graduate degrees in fields other than business to prepare for career change or advancement in the area of business management. It is also an outstanding opportunity to experience Master of Business Administration (MBA)-level coursework without committing to an MBA program. For those who later decide to pursue an MBA, the CSUN GCBA curriculum provides excellent preparation for that degree. Not surprisingly, business and management professionals with advanced degrees enjoy an “advanced-degree premium” of six percent over the field’s average national wage of $31.56, according to a recent study.*

The GCBA program is offered in collaboration with CSUN’s College of Business and Economics (COBAE), which is among the nation’s largest colleges of business and accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. GCBA courses are taught by distinguished COBAE faculty and seasoned practitioners in their respective fields.

Designed for working professionals, this six-course program features classes scheduled on one evening per week and every other Saturday morning. GBCA is also taught in the cohort format, which ensures on-time completion, maximizes interaction with faculty and facilitates the development of valuable networking relationships among fellow participants.

Because GCBA program is a one-year program, it is ideal for those who are seeking career advancement or considering starting or expanding their own businesses. GCBA students who earn grades of “B” or better in all of their classes will receive consideration for admission to CSUN’s highly regarded MBA program.
