The Burata cheese was do die for, I almost thought I was eating raw dough on bread with a side of tomatoes. And the salad was like a capresio style where as the soft mozzeralla, tomatos, and bread, it was soft mozzerella , hairloom tomatos, and peaches with balsomic vinger garnished all over the plate underneath the cheese! It was delicious for someone doesn’t like tomatoes.

A while ago I bought lots of antique silver spoon sets when we visited Colin’s sister Morag and her family over the summer as they live near Spoon Central – a little village called Horncastle that is full to the brim with small antique shops. As I’ve been without my camera for what seems like months, I’ve not been able to photograph any of my ‘work in progress’ for a while. I have been busy, just not really been able to blog about it.



Well my camera arrived back from the lab all shiny and new the other day and so today I spent some time taking images of the new rings I’ve made from the spoons I bought over the summer. So here are a few shots of my new rings – in spoon format and then transformed into things of beauty for someone special…

Some of the spoons needed a lot of care and attention as they were quite scratched and deeply marked in places – so I spent hours filing, sanding and polishing them before forming them into rings – a laborious task but very worth it – it’s so lovely to work away at an old spoon and bring it back to life, so to speak and polish them up to a brilliant shine and rid them of blemishes. I couldn’t get rid of every mark though and it’s nice that there are often these remnants of past lives and history within the spoons that I use.

This is a shot of all the spoons prior to sanding, filing and polishing. I’ve removed the bowls and rounded and smoothed the ends.

This set of spoons has a lovely pattern on the upper side and on the under side so I made two different rings.

These spoons have a shell design which is quite a common spoon pattern, but the ones I’ve bought before only had the shell at the tip of the stems. These lovely spoons have the shell pattern and a lovely grooved edge as well.

A simple grooved pattern runs along the edge of these spoons and they have quite a decorative edge at the tip.





I’ve had loads of fun making this set of rings as they all have fab patterns and grooves on them and I decided to experiment with oxidisation and adding an antique patina to them. Once formed into ring and fully polished, I make sure the rings are perrfectly clean and free from fingerprints, then I heat them up by placing them into boiling hot water. They then get transferred into a stinky [gas masks required] Liver of Sulphur solution that is also gently heated in a bath of hot water and they are left in the liquid until I’m satisfied with the oxidisation process.

The rings are washed and then I use a set of fine graded sandpapers to polish them again, removing the patina from the raised areas of silver. The black patina gets left in the grooves and patterns when the rings are re-polished and this really accentuates the designs. It’s a bit tricky re-polishing the insides of the rings and I did initially try painting the patina onto only the outside of the rings with a brush, but this was quite tricky and it was impossible to avoid the liquid running around the entire ring and onto the inside. It also meant that the patina was applied unevenly and so I thought it best to apply it to the entire ring and just spend a little extra time to finish the rings off – I think the hard work is worth it for the final result.

I would love to de-clutter, but whenever I think of organization, I imagine clear plastic bins with labels attached. I guess that works, but it's just so boring ... and ugly. Besides, some beauty products are actually fun to look at, like perfume bottles and colorful eyeshadow palettes. Why hide them in a drawer or in a bin under the bed?

Luckily, there's a bunch of crafty people on the Web who know a thing or two about stylish organization, whether it's for makeup, accessories, or perfume bottles. If I get started now, I think I might have the kitchen table cleaned up in an afternoon — or, alright, more like a week. Ready to join me?

Wooden necklace organizer
Salvaged wood is a hip and eco-friendly way to decorate. Here's how to bring that element into your room, and organize your necklaces at the same time:

What you need:
• salvaged wooden board
• small drawer knobs (with screws)
• drill

Instructions:
1. Take your piece of salvaged board and drill five pilot holes down the center of the board, the same distance apart. (Tip: You may want to mark them out before you drill.)
2. Take your drawer knobs and attach them to the board, via the pilot holes.
3. Hang up the board, and arrange your necklaces on the drawer pulls.

Earring cheese grater
Here's a secret: Your cheese grater doesn't want to grate cheese. What it really wants to do is show off your earrings. Give it a chance.

What you need:
• small cheese grater
• paint
• small metal hooks (used to hang pictures)
• four beads (the hooks should fit inside the bead holes)
• strong glue, like E-6000
• tape

Instructions:
1. Paint the cheese grater a fun color.
2. Once dry, attach the four hooks, one to each corner of the bottom of the cheese grater using the strong glue. Place a piece of tape over the hook to hold it in place until the glue is dry.
3. Once the glue has dried, remove the tape, and put the bead on the curved part of the hook. This will protect the surface of your furniture.
4. Hang earrings from all the different holes in the cheese grater.

Perfume plate rack
Perfume bottles are super pretty, but displaying too many on your dresser can end up looking like clutter. Here's a better way to organize and show off your fragrance collection:

What you need:
• plate rack/spice rack
• paint
• picture-hanging hooks

Instructions:

1. Find a small plate/spice rack, and paint it a fun color.
2. Once dry, attach it to your wall with picture-hanging hooks. Arrange your perfumes and/or makeup bottles in rack.

What you need:
• small, clear plastic tub (one side should be open)
• coffee beans/ small grains, etc.

Instructions:
1. Take the clear tub, and fill with coffee beans and/ or small grains (whichever you prefer)
2. Stick your brushes into the coffee beans, brush side up.

Rake organizer
Sure, you can buy little hooks to hang your necklaces, but we like this rustic, shabby-chic take on jewelry organization. And it's so easy ...

What you need:
• old rake
• screw and screwdriver
• sandpaper (optional)
• Rustoleum (optional)

Instructions:
1. Unscrew the handle from the old rake.
2. If the rake is rusted, sand off the rust or cover the metal with an anti-rust spray paint like Rustoleum.
3. Drill the screw into the wall/ door of where you'd like the rake to hang.
4. Hang the rake on the screw, rake prongs down. Arrange your necklaces on the prongs.

Teacup jewelry

What You Need:

Instructions:
1. Arrange the bowls/teacups in your top dresser drawer. (You can also place them on top of your vanity.)

Magnetic makeup board
Is your makeup strewn all across your bathroom counter? Do you spend 30 minutes digging in your vanity drawer for your favorite blush? If so, you'll love this magnetic makeup board. Not only does it keep your makeup organized, but it also looks super cute on your wall.

What you need:
• old picture frame
• acrylic paint
• spray adhesive
• metal sheet or baking sheet
• piece of fabric
• mini magnets
• strong glue, like E-6000
• old, empty pill bottles

Instructions:
1. Find an old frame, and remove the glass. Paint the frame a fun color.
2. Take the frame to the local hardware store and ask them to cut a piece of metal to fit inside the frame, or use an old baking/cookie sheet if it already fits.
3. Cut a piece of fabric to the size of the metal sheet, and attach it to the metal sheet with some spray adhesive.
4. After the spray adhesive has dried, attach the metal sheet to the frame.
5. Line up all your makeup products — blushes, bronzers, eyeshadows — and attach a mini magnet to each item. Use a heavy duty glue to attach the magnets.
6. Take an old pill bottle and throw away the top. Paint the bottle. Once dry, attach a few magnets to one side of the bottle. Fill the old pill bottle with brushes, eyeliners, or mascaras.
7. Place each makeup product on the sheet, as well as the old pill bottle.

He hides in his make shift sound room and plays his guitar, escaping from me so distant but not far. He wants to happy and sings a hopeful song. That’s what he does to recooperate and be strong. He doesn’t want to be saved by me he’s comfortable alone. When he gets in these spells he is cold as stone. I will just wait and anticipate, the next series of events, that both of us cause by and how we tango. He has a tough shell like coconut but insides are soft as a mango. And When he’s ready oh how he’ll shine! I love this young man of mine!
